Yet another entry into my blog, from the eyes of my phone:) Loads of randomness but fun/ funny moments and maybe some did-you-know facts hehe
Soy sauce chicken from Hong Fatt in Chinatown. Cheap eats and perhaps a future review on this place?;)
My philosophy had always been to buy fruits that are in season (and at cheap prices). I somehow managed to overstock my pantry with them. Bananas were going for $0.85/kg at woolies but I cannot say no to pink lady apples, packham pears and mandarins this season:)
How to gain some bad fat in winter~ eat a few sugar bombs every day whilst studying. I am now attempting to stop eating sugar-y food like a smoker attempting to quit smoking-.-
My new uniform, made especially for me by my employer:D I got the opportunity to try on different sizes and choose the fit I liked best! How awesome is that??!!
My other uniforms that I have to iron. Buying well fitted clothes is a must but one must know how to take care of them otherwise it defeats the purpose:X
When I was younger, I never did understood why adults consume cups after cups of coffee but now I understand. Although I'm not having coffee when I took this picture (its Chatime's premium milk tea..a little caffeinated maybe?), coffee is now part of my daily routine at work just to keep me boosted.
That molten chocolate cake looks like it got shot and it's now bleeding profusely-.- But....it did taste awesome so no complaints hehe
Deconstructed lemon meringue pie~ I need a bigger serve of this to keep me happy:/
Donuts filled with chocolate~ again, I need more D:
Jellybeans aka fuel whilst working. Super duper guilty every time I sink my teeth into them but they are too tempting to resist:(
My new found obsession~ dunking my fruit in milk. Seems to slow down the oxidation process (which usually happens when the fruit is exposed after being cut). Also lends some sweetness to the drink so all's good hehe

Khang's Noodles
I particularly like this outlet (despite only having been here twice so far) because it's not too far away unlike the other restaurants and there is ample of seating area for customers.Other plus points would be quick service, extended opening hours and delicious tasting food at affordable prices:) It is located just opposite Greater Union cinema at Arndale shopping centre. Do drop by if you are around the area and you won't be disappointed!!
A bonus~ being able to watch masterchef on TV whilst slurping my noodles away..just the way I like to spend my afternoons hehe
Avacado smoothie~
Three bean sweet with durian~ The best of both worlds. I was initially torn between my love for beans and durian but after having a better look at the menu, I realized they have a combination of both ingredients in the same cup! Tastes exactly like durian and three bean sweet but so much better together. A good concoction and one that I would highly recommend;)
Seafood dried noodles~
Here's a better look at the noodles, for your entertainment:)
Chunky beef noodles~ When pho meets ABC soup!! I was skeptical at first as I associate chunky with massive portions, but thankfully (for my sake!), its not as chunky but sufficiently loaded with protein pieces.
And of course, you do get generous amounts of fiber in your diet. Soup tastes like beef stock but with hints of sweetness from the vegetables:)
The dried noodles after some mixing around~ not as dry as you think it is! Surprisingly enough, it is moist at the bottom and not stoughy in texture. Tastes good with a bit of dried chilli to bump up the flavours.
Khang's special fried noodles~ Never have I come across any fried vietnamese noodles and I have to admit, if it was as good as this, I have been missing out for some time!
Like most Vietnamese dishes, this one is no different in terms of portions. Heaps of seafood, vegetables and noodles in a big plate (enough for an adult and child, approximately). From the picture, you can tell that the noodles were piping hot when it reached our table. Slight sour/tangy taste, a bit like Pad Thai maybe, but still good overall;)
Alas, something to quench our thirst: Logan drink!! Refreshing, light and sweet way to end our meal:)

Weekend pickup
Monday monday monday...what's there to not like about a brand new week ahead except that if you are like me (whom always have a fantabulous time on the weekends), I reckon I would need a weekend from the weekend haha.
Regardless, here are a few pictures from yet another macaron hunt but this time, its from Devour. Delicious treats to get me all pumped for the upcoming weekdaysxD
I like how this colour combination reminds me of a UK flag..I'm a little obsessed with a certain clothes brand from UK at the moment hehe..If you are wondering about the macaron flavours, the blue one is peanut butter and jelly but unfortunately, I can't remember what the other flavours are:(
Purple would be grape and green would be green apple! That's easy enough hey;)
Its kinda awesome how big the peanut butter and jelly macaron is compared to the others..more to bite on, I suppose;D
A few pictures from my trip around the valley..nothing much to rave about but it is a good sight-seeing experience:)
The dream~ it's all real and happening! Green pastures, clear blue skies but no grapes in season as its autumn/ winter. Soon-ish, I reckon hehe

A weekend with me
If I were to showcase Adelaide to a tourist for the weekend, I would opt for a relaxing getaway (nothing too exhilarating or adventurous). So, where shall we start? How about a cuppa or two to break the ice? Let's wander into cafe side of the CBD? With an unlimited range of cafes to pop by for brunch/ afternoon tea, Rundle St is a must go for me.
Cocolat is where we shall begin our day. Pick anything you want; from mouth-watering cakes/ brownies/ cupcakes to award winning gelatos to a steaming cup of hot chocolate/ coffee/ tea or a few pieces of handmade truffles? There's something for every soul here;)
Here's my flat white coffee, just what I need to kickstart my day:)
Chocolate blueberry muffin~ chocolate indeed!
And so, we would (ideally) be chatting the afternoon away and perhaps, pop ourselves into a few vintage boutiques located on Rundle St and if that's not enough, we can always head over to Rundle Mall for some casual window shopping:)
Let's talk about dinner now! Famished from walking about the whole day? Craving for something warm and affordable for dinner? Pull yourself together and we shall go to Chinatown. Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Australian, Italian and Korean, Chinatown is my best pick spot for dinner. I can never decide where to go because I want to have a bit of everything!
But for this weekend, I know where I want to go and it would be Hong Kee Chinese Restaurant ! Cozy atmosphere, excellent service, tasty dishes, affordable and no reservations required. What more could you ask for?;)
Braised pork belly in preserved vegetables~ moist, succulent and tender pieces of meat drenched in slightly salty sauce. My friend once told me that having the sauce with rice satisfies him immensely. Quite true if I must add, but having some meat is the dream, right?;)
Honey pork spare ribs~ a little sweet and savoury concoction and definitely finger licking good!:)
Let's not forget about having some fibre in our diet!!:)
Alas, delicious fried ice cream to end the night? Or not?
Alternatively, we could head to Steven Ter Horst Chocolatier for that extra bit of sugar to end the night. Chocolate galore ahoy!:) Friendly and efficient service!!
On the following day, how about some dim sum for brunch? Eastern Garden Chinese Restaurant at Tooraks Garden serves some delicious treats but we MUST get there before 11.30am to secure seats!Trolley after trolley of piping hot bamboo steamers dance around you but be quick to snap up your favourite otherwise you would have to wait for at least 15 minutes for it to reappear from the kitchen!
Char siew sou~ BBQ pork pastry! Crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside:)
Har gao~ prawn dumplings. Skin was a little thick, in my opinion, but that certainly did not deter me from eating them:)
Coin purse~ prawn wrapped in wanton pastry and fried until golden and crisp. Dip these in a little bit of mayonnaise for that extra burst of flavours:)
Char siew pau~ BBQ pork buns. My must have for dim sum, it's almost traditional!
Beef tripe~ not exactly something that I would eat but that choice is entirely up to you!
Prawn and vegetable dim sum~
Eastern Garden is located near Burnside Village, a newly opened shopping hub that carries higher end brands such as Pandora, Nine West, Mimco but also do have affordable brands such as Zara, Forever New and Esprit. If shopping is not to your liking, perhaps a bit of strolling around that area to Norwood (its not impossible because I did it!!:D)? Movies or bowling? Take your pick;)

Bracegridle's
I seem to be on a chocolate frenzy this season and what better way to celebrate it than to visit yet another delicious chocolate outlet. With a few awards from the Royal Adelaide Show in the bag and a diverse range of chocolate delights, it's no wonder people like me keep coming back for more;)
Nic and Rocco's macarons~ if you happen to have watched MyKitchenRules this year, you would be familiar with this dynamic duo from Adelaide. Although they did not win in the finale, they did put up some smashing good dishes and on top of that, are currently supplying Bracegirdle's with their macarons! It is about $3.50 per piece (a little bit more expensive than other macarons) but you are assured that it's loaded with a good punch of flavours with every bite:)
Iced chocolate~ chocolate-y, creamy and not overly sweet. An ideal drink to have whilst gossiping in the afternoon;)
Belgium waffles!! One of my absolute favourites and must have! Fluffy waffles, silky-smooth chocolate sauce, fresh strawberries and creamy ice-cream. The perfect combination:))
Almond croissant~ I thought this was a little denser compared to other croissants. However, I did find it much juicier (if that's even a proper way to describe it) and sweeter. Whenever my teeth sink into it, there's this strange yet wonderful burst of sugar and butter syrup flowing from the croissant pieceO.o Seems sinful but it felt right at that moment lol..
Although I did not have any chocolates whilst I was there, I did sample them some time ago and they were delicious..would make a wonderful gift for your partner/ friend/ colleague etc etc..comes in a huge variety of flavours and designs. I'm sure you would be spoilt for choices;)
