I can't help but indulge in a bit of randomness every month! The cheeky part of me just couldn't resist doing something that the sensible me would regret later (you will know what I mean after scrolling down). Sensible me is regretting this post and trying really hard to comprehend why do I attempt to exercise when everything would eventually go to waste:(
This event happened a few weeks ago and despite not eating a lot for lunch, I somehow managed to fit more pizzas into me than expected. All of these were taken at the boy's place in murray bridge. Surprisingly, the fast food outlets there are pretty darn good!
Pizza supremo~ Basically pizza with the works..a lot of works lol.
Eagle boy pepperoni pizza~ pizzas for the budget lads out there. If I remembered correctly, this large pizza costs $5 and one could eat this for a few days! Talk about being cost effective as well! It may not be the best gourmet tasting pizza out there but when one's hungry, who cares?
Eagle boy marguarita pizza~ a fairly simple pizza but nevertheless, does not lack in taste:)
Garlic bread~ is it me or do all pizza outlets serve the exact same garlic bread?!!
Red rooster's chicken pieces~ literally the best chicken nuggets (at least that's what I think it is) I have ever had. No joke, you must try it. I could eat this all day but thankfully, I do not live near a Red Rooster joint.

Nanna Hot Bake
More posts on Adelaide bakeries and this time, we are at the humble little shop in a tiny corner in central market. Whenever I am here, I tend to reminiscence about the good ol'days, nibbling away at no-fuss buns made by a few traditional bakeries in Malaysia.
Back then, croissants, macarons or brioche were uncommon items and were probably deemed luxuries for a kid like me. I can still recall peering into western pastry shops and glancing away at all the beautiful goodies. Who knew that after all those years, I somehow had cultivated a craving for the less extravagant pieces and constantly find myself in search for something closer to home:)
So back to this little bakery. As you can see, the shop is tiny and takeaways are preferable. You do get the option of having them microwave your purchases so that you can savour the moment sooner!
Sizzling pork bun~ delicious and at less than $3, it's an excellent and costly way to fill yourself up:)
Coconut spread bun~ this reminds me of "kaya" (Malaysian egg custard spread) but in pandan flavour. Not overly sweet and the filling is just right. My ideal snack, especially when I'm on the run:D

Assagio Ristorante
Been meaning to drop by here since the beginning of the year but sadly, I can never make it because it would be fully booked or I just don't have enough peeps to dine with.Simple excuses that have delayed me until last weekend. Despite ringing a couple of times to change my booking arrangements, the staff were very courteous and patient with me:)
I arrived here slightly before 6pm (opening time) and was welcomed in by one of the waiting staff and promptly seated at my table.
This gave me an opportunity to click away at their modern interior decor. I was fortunate enough to be seated near the kitchen, with an ideal view of what goes about in there. The chef would occasionally glance at me to which, I would immediately look elsewhere, pretending to not pay any attention to his activities hehe.
We started out with their house bread, served with a choice of olive oil or vinegar. Freshly baked, crusted on the outside, soft on the inside and a tad warm to my delight.
Sorbet to cleanse your palate prior to the mains.
One of the night's specials.
Filetto Di Manzo Con Sugo Di Nebbiolo~ beef medallions on soft orange scented butternut pumpkin, served with roasted garlic, mandarin and chilli sauce, accompanied by broccollini. Looks delicious and was cooked exactly as what my friend ordered:)
Linguine Alla Pescatora~ shellfish, prawns, mussels, whitefish, garlic, chilli and exra virgin oil. I like my pasta very much, especially with fresh added seafood. Pasta was not clumpy and everything was well-seasoned.
Overall, I have enjoyed my dining experience here but I secretly envy diners who had desserts because it looked soo good but I just couldn't fit anymore in me:( I will drop by again and sample their notorious lobster soup and have one (or two) desserts and maybe order their gnocchi too, just because I am such a potato freak hehe.
Thank you for a lovely dining experience, Assagio!

Ba Guo Bu Yi
Chinatown's one of my favourite places for affordable and good food, especially when I am on a tight budget! This is probably one of the newer kids on Gouger Street (but they have been around for at least 2 years?) and although the pricing is a little more costly compared to other places, their dishes are truly unique and yummy.
Fish fillets in chilli oil~ one of the chef's speciality and you can choose from a medium or large size. I do caution diners to avoid biting into the little peppercorns because when that happens, it will sting real bad. But other than that, enjoy!:)
Tofu in salted egg sauce~ I can't recall what's the name of this dish but it is non-spicy and has little chunks of salted egg in it. Goes perfectly well with a bowl of steam rice:)
Pork served with sliced spring onions, cucumbers and a plate of warm pastry~ the idea is to wrap the meat and veges in the pastry. It's that simply and best of all, is similar to the Peking duck's concept but less costly:)

The German Cake Shop
This is part 2 of my visit to the magical German side of South Australia. It's nice to explore different cultures every now and then, just to keep you entertained with "boring" ol'Adelaide. I have been here for nearly 5 years and there is still so much I do not know about this place!
We walked by this bakery and decided to grab some snacks for our trip and when we looked at the front counter, there were just too many delicious goodies to choose from. I couldn't decide if I wanted something savoury or sweet and stood there for at least 10 minutes!
I wanted to try something uniquely and authentically German but completely forgot to ask:( Ah wells, there's always next time, right?:)
Jam berliner~ soft and fluffy bun dusted with cinnamon sugar and an added dollop of jam.
It's stuffed with jam in it too! (Can't tell if it was raspberry or strawberry but I'm not fussy). Nothing better to kick start the road trip:)
Pig's ear~ not exactly sure why it is known as pig's ear but it is yummy. Had a unique taste and it could be from the added spices.
So what am I having next time? Maybe a bit of cakes and a savoury item? Will keep you guys posted!!:D

Chocolate @ No.5
This is probably the third time I have been here, not that I don't like it but purely because it's quite a distance to travel. But because I don't come here often, each visit is a little surprise for me as I have no idea what to expect (I want to taste everything but I can't!).
Unlike most dessert cafes in the city, this is probably the least explored place for me. Went here with the boy last weekend and I am amazed at what little treasures I have found here:9
Tanzania (75% dark chocolate) and milk chocolate bars:) Delicious and so pretty to look at!
Iced chocolate drink~
Chocolate croissant~ chocolate overload. Two of my favourite things in the world, matchmade in heaven (or N.5, in this instance). Freshly baked croissant topped nicely with chocolate. Was amazing and surprisingly, not too sweet! :)
Tiramisu~ Does not have as much caffeine-infused into it but what I really like is the chocolate mousse (I think) layer on top which was textually different from the mascarpone cheese layer. Slightly more firm but still easy to scoop:)
On my next visit, I am going to sink my teeth into their chocolate mud cake and waffles (sounds sinfully yummy!!). Can't wait for it!

Tin Cat Cafe Restaurant and Gallery
Cruised here for tea last weekend with a bunch of friends. The entire street was poorly lit and tucked in a little alley of shops was this cafe. Cozy atmosphere which somehow exuded a very relaxed feel, perfect for a chilly winter night.
The menu's front page is quite adorable and although the menu wasn't extensive, I still found it difficult to choose what I wanted.
Garlic bread~ literally garlic and bread served with a dollop of aioli. Garlic was nicely roasted/ baked and bread slices were delicious.
House bread served atop pumpkin seeds~
I am VERY obsessed with bread (which would explain why I can't seem to get rid of stubborn fats), especially bread served in restaurants/cafes. This one is fluffy, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
Mulloway fillet served with broccollini, artichoke risotto and oven-grilled tomatoes~
Potato gnocchi with pumpkin, gorgonzola and sage, $29~ First time I have ever picked a vegetarian item on the menu and I am not regretting it. In terms of portion, it is huge!! I could barely finish this up. I kept coming back for more after each bite and I love the little bits of added gorgonzola cheese in it. So delicious and would recommend it to any vegetarian:)
