Been meaning to revisit my student days by sloughing through a few cheap eats spots, in search for a bargain aka good value for hard earned cash. Purple peanuts operates Mondays to Saturdays and is conveniently located next to the Southern cross station.
Witnessed quite a few students breeze in for takeaways and having a simplified eat in menu made choosing our meals all the more quicker. Not much seating area and I can only assume that it can get crowded at peak lunch hours. Service is quick which is always a bonus for someone on the run like me.
Tsuke don - salmon sashimi don topped with some sort of mildly flavoured pickles, served with mixed salad and rice. A nutritious bite for those wanting to watch the waistline. Basic flavours married well with each other.
Akio's salmon sashimi - most of my family members and friends would know that I have adopted a clean eating strategy that hopefully, can be committed to most of the week. Having healthy options when I eat out is always a bonus especially when its balanced in terms of its protein, carbs and fiber content. Big plus from me for not over complicating the seasoning used thereby allowing the mildly sweet salmon flavour to seep through.
Matcha shake - would have liked a little more green tea oomph and probably a little less chocolate mixed into this. Not too bad on a warm day though.
